Thank you for your email on the subject of rejection of the ACTA agreement (Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement).
Personally, I think that the agreement, in its present form, can not be adopted by the European Parliament, because first we have to clarify the part concerning the Internet issues, in particular the problem of copyright protection. For this reason, on 4th of July I will vote against the ACTA agreement during the Plenary Session.
It should be mentioned that on the 21st of June 2012 the EP International Trade Committee (lead committee) recommended the rejection of ACTA.
Moreover, in 2010 in a written question to the European Commission, I raised the matter of the relationship between the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement and European policy on the information society and its paralegal effects.
